I bought this card to fit into an ultra-slim Acer desktop which allows only very low cards to be fitted. The onboard graphics were adequate for office apps and even youtube but I wanted just a little more. A full fat card was out of the question, it would be too high. This card arrived with a low profile bracket and changing it for the "normal" sized one was very simple. It slotted in at the first attempt and was a perfect fit. The fan works quietly and is hardly noticeable, performance is as one would expect from a 2GB GDDR5 card. It will not conquer the gaming world; anyone who is looking for top class graphics should look elsewhere. I couldn't because of the physical restrictions. The card provides HDMI and DVI outputs, both of which are in use, one driving a 24" 1920x1080 monitor and the other a 1680x1050 which I use as a CCTV monitor. It drives these monitors easily with no sudden whirring of the fan: it just does the job quietly and efficiently.Read full review

A good little graphics card if you don't want to spend on a new Power Supply Unit, or if you have a Small Form Factor case that won't fit an uprated ATX-size PSU. Draws all it's power through the PCI-E x16 slot - and only 30 watts maximum power draw. NVIDIA recommends a minimum 300w Power Supply for the GT 1030, but I have fitted this into SFF PCs with only 250w PSU and it runs without any problems whatsoever, so I reckon they are being over-cautious.

Sad to say that insufficient gpu power will cause games to crash. When I wrote software we weren't allowed race conditions to cause crashes! Low power processing meant the programme ram slower. So this gpu is plenty fast enough for my choice of games and they don't crash the system anymore. Good value. Low profile. Silent.

Gigabyte's heatsink ensures the card is silent and does not get very hot. In my tests it worked in both UEFI and legacy BIOS computers. It has been working perfectly in a PC that only has a 210W PSU. A low profile GT1030 e.g. this card is often the only graphics upgrade option available to those with small computers or PCs with under-powered power supplies.

All is good so far. It has been used to upgrade a Dell Optiplex SFF with a 275w p/s. I’ve yet to test it up to the 4K output but the improvement at 1080p is remarkable.
